The RemoteHER project, funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-VET programme, officially kicked off with its first transnational meeting on 5 February 2026 in Macedo de Cavaleiros, Portugal. Hosted at the Edifício Side UP, the meeting brought together partners from Portugal, Germany, Spain, and Estonia to initiate collaboration on this innovative project aimed at empowering women for digital and remote careers in Human Resources.
The meeting began with a warm welcome from the hosting organisation, MORE CoLAB, followed by opening remarks outlining the project’s vision and objectives. Representatives from the Municipality also addressed the consortium, highlighting the importance of initiatives that promote digital inclusion and gender equality in the workforce.
Project partners introduced their organisations and roles within the consortium:
MORE CoLAB (Portugal) as project coordinator, focusing on workforce innovation
Paderborn University (Germany), responsible for quality assurance and academic expertise
Egeria Desarrollo Social (Spain), contributing expertise in gender equality and social inclusion
European Learning Network (Estonia), leading the development of the e-learning platform and digital infrastructure
RemoteHER aims to support women—particularly mothers, migrants, and those living in rural areas—by equipping them with the skills needed to access remote and digital HR careers. The project will also engage vocational education and training (VET) educators and policymakers to ensure long-term impact.
Key expected outcomes include:
Development of a digital HR curriculum
Creation of an innovative e-learning platform
Training programmes for educators
Pilot training involving more than 100 women
During the meeting, partners reviewed the project’s management framework, including the Project Management Handbook and Quality Assurance processes. Work packages were discussed, and responsibilities were clarified to ensure smooth implementation.
Several important decisions were made:
A Gantt chart and evaluation tools will be developed to monitor training impact
The international training in Málaga has been rescheduled to September (pending confirmation)
A structured digital workspace will be created to organise project materials
Templates for communication and dissemination will be developed
In addition to the working sessions, partners had the opportunity to explore the local cultural heritage through visits to two museums in the region, strengthening team cohesion and intercultural exchange.
The RemoteHER consortium will next focus on defining its dissemination strategy and refining the project’s communication plan, including the creation of a project blog to share updates and results with a wider audience.
With a strong foundation established, RemoteHER is set to make a meaningful contribution to empowering women across Europe to thrive in the digital labour market.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses.
